MOLINE — Scott W. Dunlop, 61, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at his home.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary, Moline. A celebration of life gathering will follow visitation at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wunder-Y, Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (Midwest affiliate) or Q.C Paws.
Scott was born on Feb. 7, 1957, in Moline, the son of William Dunlop III and Louise Falk Dunlop.
He was a self-employed accountant with Dunlop Tax Service for 30 years. Scott was an avid sports fan with a special affinity for the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks, and he also followed March Madness. He loved to play picks, collect pins, cars and lighters, and tumbling and polishing his rocks. But most of all he adored his dog, Bismarck, who he lovingly called his best companion. He was always the life of the party.
Survivors include his sister, Theresa (John) Helgason; nieces, Andrea Jones, Amie Mills, Wendi Riecke, Brandi Boyer; six great-nieces and great-nephews; two uncles; an aunt; many cousins; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Dakota.
